Floyd Mayweather tells Conor McGregor it’s very simple what to do if he really wants to step into a boxing ring with him in 2017.
As expected, this story has perpetuated on over night, taunting – almost tormenting sports fans at this stage.
But to his credit, Floyd Mayweather has issued some clear updates on what is actually going on.
He didn’t mention McGregor by name at first, merely pointing out that he has no deal in place to fight any fighter at the moment.
But we all knew he was responding to speculation about McGregor, obviously.
Now however, in the last hour he’s had a message for ‘Mystic Mac’ directly.
He’s now directly mentioned McGregor by name and had this to say to the young Irish fighting sensation in the UFC, if he really wants to take him on in a boxing match:
A clear indication of what the hold up in getting the fight done seems to be.
McGregor currently has four fights left on his UFC fight contract.
If he can’t do it with their blessing or involvement as some have suggested the fight would need to have, he’ll simply have to honor his contract and wait.
There doesn’t seem to be an easy solution in their short-term, but perhaps the UFC will come on board in the coming weeks.
Time will tell.
