The Adrien Broner vs Adrian Granados weigh-in results came in a short time ago from Cincinnati, Ohio.
This weekend’s fight will be shown on Showtime and will feature the return of Ohio’s most famed current fighting son – Adrien ‘The Problem’ Broner.
Some have commented that Broner did not look particularly well in some of the pre-fight interviews in the run up to the fight, looking very tired in some videos.
This could be totally normal however, as he was looking to cut down in weight to the 147lbs limit.
He came in inside the weight at the first time of asking however at 146.5lbs, looking in good condition.
His opponent Adrian Granados did not make weight at the first time of trying however.
He came in a pound over the welterweight limit at 148lbs at his first attempt.
He attempted again a second time after removing his robes but was given one hour to come back to lose the pound, having failed to make weight at a second attempt.
This should be no problem however as he looked in great shape.
It’s very rare a fighter can’t lose a pound in an hour unless he is totally water drained.
Not the case for Granados from what I saw.
He looked ripped and ready to go – totally surprised when they mentioned he was a pound over.
More than likely it was a miscalculation with whatever his team were using for weighing scales before getting to the venue.
(Article update: Granados came back an hour later and weighed-in at 146.5lbs)
