The Danny Garcia Philadelphia upbringing and childhood is something that the world welterweight champion holds close to him to this day.
Ahead of the biggest fight of his professional career against Keith Thurman next month, Garcia has taken a stroll down memory lane on where it all began for him.
Garcia comes from a proud boxing tradition State in Philadelphia in the US.
You only need to look back at some of the recent champions like Bernard Hopkins that have come from there to see that.
His father Angel has come in for some flack in the build-up to the Keith Thurman fight for these comments, but speaking to Showtime during the week – both Danny and Angel Garcia went back to their roots of where it all began for a young Garcia:

Like many boxers before him, he overcame considerable adversity to get where he is today.
The true definition of a fighter in essence.
From what I’ve watched in the build-up to this one with Keith Thurman, both men looking to be training harder than ever.
Both look very lean with a couple of weeks to go until fight night.
Whether or not Garcia’s father’s comments have gotten under the skin of Thurman remains to be seen.
Either way, due to the clash of styles and with both men more than willing to throw heavy leather, expect a good scrap when both men face each other on March 4th.
