Jarrett Hurd might not have been the biggest name in boxing prior to this weekend, but after this peach of a right hand last night he not only got his name out there, but became IBF super-welterweight champion of the world in the process.
It was a fight I enjoyed from start to finish. One that had a little bit of everything.
Hurd ultimately scored a stoppage win over Tony Harrison, but throughout the fight Harrison had exhibited superb boxing skills and looked in control for the most part.
However Hurd was not to be denied, and dug deep to become world champion after a slow start.
In case you missed the fight here are the key video highlights below.
Watch out for that perfect right hand over the top from Jarrett Hurd to close the show and become world champion:
Jarrett Hurd showed he not only has a world class punch, but the heart of a champion to come back from been down on the cards considerably early on.
The IBF title that he won was previously held by Jermall Charlo who vacated it a couple of weeks back to move up to new challenges at middleweight.
One of the nicest punches I’ve seen this year in boxing, and great comeback performances in a world title fight so far in 2017.
Kudos to Jarrett Hurd.
Expect to hear more about this new found star in the future who is now 20-0 (14KO).
