Sky Sports boxing live stream of tonight’s ‘Next Gen’. A new series by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing showcasing young and emerging talent live.
An excellent concept it has to be said.
Any opportunity for young fighters to get added exposure can only be a positive thing and what’s more it’s online and free for fans to watch the undercard on.
Golden Boy Promotions have done this well over the last 12 months or so in terms of streaming undercards for free online of some of their shows.
Now the UK folks are following suit.
In the first show of it’s kind tonight, Sky Sports are broadcasting (below) the first of Hearn’s ‘Next Gen’ shows live and totally free for the general public on Facebook.
The show will switch over to Sky Sports 1 on television at approximately 10pm however, but still, before that fans will get to see plenty of action totally free of charge.
This new move comes at a time where more and more sport is being shown live online.
As the TV model seems to be moving online totally where fans can get their news and live sports faster – on whatever device they want.
This makes sense in the rapidly changing technological world we now live in where the pace of life seems to be getting quicker by the day.
Hearn has said these shows will be shown live on the Sky Sports Facebook page for the near future and will be designed to build new and young talent.
