Gennady Golovkin not really interested in Canelo fight – as he speaks on the eve of his latest battle with Daniel Jacobs at Madison Square Garden.
‘GGG’ takes on Jacobs tonight and if you are looking for info on fight time, TV channel and the like – you’ll find everything you need here.
In the build-up to the fight Canelo Alvarez promoter Oscar De La Hoya has been vocal in his opinion that the fate of a potential Canelo vs Golovkin mega fight this year is now in the hands of the latter.
Golovkin took issue with De La Hoya’s sentiment in a chat with Sports Illustrated. In response to a question from the Sports Illustrated host regarding De La Hoya’s stance – Golovkin said:
“My response – haha. Seriously it’s not interest now. My focus is 100% to Daniel Jacobs. I lost interest last year. Too much talking.”
Perhaps this is just a passing feeling, as fans would love to see the Golovkin vs Canelo fight later in 2017. If ‘GGG’ gets passed Jacobs tonight of course.
He has a considerable challenge in front of him tonight in the biggest, strongest, possibly biggest hitting middleweight he’s ever faced in his life.
First thing’s first as they say.
