This peach of a Jorge Linares punch proved to be the most devastating blow landed in the second fight with Anthony Crolla.
Last night there was plenty of punch variation on display for all to see. Jabs, hooks, straight shots, uppercuts and in a mixture of combinations to body and head.
Perhaps the most effective blow scored on the night, certainly one of the most sickening to watch, was the Jorge Linares uppercut.
The WBA lightweight champion had some excellent success with it.
Both in terms of breaking through the high guard of Anthony Crolla both on the back foot and when he decided to be a little more adventurous and mix it into his front footed attacks.
The Jorge Linares punch that caused the sole knockdown in the fight came here:

What a punch from Linares.
Perhaps made only more impressive was the comfort in which he unleashed it at times during the fight on Anthony Crolla.
A punch the Manchester man didn’t see coming on a number of occasions due to Linares’ innate ability to disguise the shot, as he smoothly transitioned from head to body to take Crolla out of his tempo.
The best Jorge Linares punch of the fight and one that now sets up some big opportunities for him in the summer.
