Jorge Linares vs Anthony Crolla 2 proved to be a more definitive fight in it’s outcome this time around. Lets take a quick look back at the WBA world lightweight card in Manchester.
Jorge Linares vs Anthony Crolla 2 Fight Night Review
I thought the headline fight was an excellent one, in that we saw a champion (Jorge Linares) show you why there are levels to to top flight pro boxing.
We saw a challenger (Crolla) show with his incredible heart, why no matter what, you must respect him as a former champion who never gives in.
We saw an undercard that featured future stars and female boxing (Katie Taylor) on full display.
However in all the excitement and the punches and knockdowns, we also saw a great appreciation for pure boxing by UK fans.
Speaking as an American based boxing fan, there is a reason in my opinion why everyone who goes to or comes from the UK praises it’s boxing fans.
There was no booing for one last night. No negative tone. Nothing to take away from the performance of all fighters on the night.
This was another great night for boxing where we were able to appreciate a display of skill and sweet science excitement in equal measure.
Looking forward following the main event, the world is ready, geared and prepared for a potential Mikey Garcia vs Jorge Linares showdown now.
Two of the most skillful, explosive lightweight boxers in the world in a world title unification fight.
Two class act boxers and trainers too. Hopefully they will put it all on the line this summer, maybe in Vegas or California perhaps?
One thing is for sure – the future is very, very bright for the technically gifted Jorge Linares.
