Zimbabwe Boxer Imitates Apollo Creed With Disastrous Consequences

A professional Zimbabwe boxer was shown here why showboating is not always the best idea to implement in a pro boxing ring.

This past Saturday night Zimbabwe boxer Charles Manyuchi stepped into the ring with Uzbekistan welterweight Qudratillo Abduqaxorov.

They were competing for the vacant WBC Silver welterweight title at the OCBC Arena in Singapore, Singapore.

23 year old Abduqaxorov extended his unbeaten record ultimately on the night to 11-0 (8KO). But not before dishing out a very painful lesson to the 27 year old Charles Manyuchi.

Manyuchi could be seen showboating for the crowd at multiple times in the fight. The stone faced Abduqaxorov ignored his antics for the most part and remained focused on the job at hand.

Here’s what happened the unfortunate Zimbabwe boxer when Abduqaxorov caught up with him. Quite literally:

Oh dear.

The win progressed the highly touted Uzbekistan’s fighter and world rankings within the WBC (World Boxing Council).

Of which Keith Thurman is the current champion at in the 147lbs weight class at the moment.

The defeat sett Charles Manyuchi back to a record of 20-3-1 (12KO). It was also the first stoppage loss of his professional boxing career thus far.

What do you think? Is showboating a dangerous game that should be avoided in pro boxing? Feel free to leave comments to us on Facebook and Twitter and elsewhere on social media.
