Heavyweight Shannon Briggs has praise for the UK and fight fans from there. As he gears up to complete his dream on his comeback journey and win a version of the heavyweight title again.
Briggs boxes Fres Oquendo on June 3rd at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood Florida for the WBA (regular) world heavyweight title.
In 2016 Briggs travelled to the UK on a number of occasions on promotional duties. Mainly to drum up interest and try to secure a fight with David Haye.

Alas, the Haye fight didn’t materialize. Haye has since been beaten by Tony Bellew and now Briggs has a shot at a world title this summer.
On his trip to the UK many fans from the country grew to love the ‘Lets Go Champ!’ movement. The catch phrase became quite popular as he travelled to country from South to North.
Today Shannon Briggs has paid respect to the UK and boxing in the country:

Should Briggs win the WBA title later this summer most likely the big fights will then be in the UK for him.
Perhaps David Haye at the end of the year might be tempted for the Briggs fight at long last. Haye is currently recovering from a damaged Achilles but has mentioned he will be back before the end of the 2017.
Then again, if Briggs has a version of a heavyweight title perhaps he’ll go after the other big names in the UK. Whether it be Anthony Joshua or even Tyson Fury.
Fury vs Briggs – imagine the press conferences for that?
