Ireland’s golden girl Katie Taylor lands a huge fight in only her 5th pro boxing bout on the biggest possible stage she could have wanted.
Katie Taylor lands a big opportunity on the Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko undercard set to take place next week on April 29th.
It had been known for some time that the Irish boxing legend would feature on the card but today the opponent and fight became clear.
Taylor will fight in an official eliminator for the WBA lightweight world title against Nina Meinke.
It will be part of arguably the biggest global pay per view and event since Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao in May 2015.

Quite the stage for Taylor and indeed women’s boxing.
Like Taylor, Meinke (4-0-2KO) is undefeated herself (5-0-2KO) – so Taylor will certainly have her hands full.
So far the Irish boxer seems to have coasted through her new pro career but this will represent the first significant test.
If she were to win and come through in style, perhaps the world title fight could take place back in Ireland in front of a packed out indoor arena.
Irish fight fans will certainly hope so.
