Anthony Joshua Pays A Surprise Visit To His First Trainer

Anthony Joshua pays a surprise visit to the first man who got him into boxing back in 2008 and had a special gift for him.

Never forgetting where you came from or helped you along the way on you’re journey in life is probably one of the most likeable qualities a human being can possess.

Anthony Joshua, labelled as a PR trained robot by some, is not that. It’s hard to imagine that for a guy who’s done so much in boxing already both amateur and pro that he didn’t actually walk into a gym until 2008.

A relatively short amateur career saw him scale the highs of a sport and capture Olympic Gold for his country. A few years after that he now holds a version of the heavyweight title.

Come April 29th against Wladimir Klitschko, he’ll have an opportunity to position himself as a top world champion in the current era of heavyweights.

But not many know where it all started out for him. Who was there from the beginning. Who backed him when no one else would.

The first ever trainer of Anthony Joshua got a surprise visit this week, Sean Murphy. He also received a great, well deserved gift, in this more real clip from Joshua where he uses language in parts and seems to be himself:
