The Shawn Porter vs Berto purse and also the fight purse of Jermell Charlo is out ahead of a stacked card in New York.
The Porter vs Berto purse ahead of tonight’s fight has been revealed by ESPN’s Dan Rafael and it’s a healthy enough one for both men:
Andre Berto – $1.2 million
Shawn Porter – $1 million
These are the disclosed purses to the commission and would not include sponsorship or a cut of any other revenues that the boxers may have in their fight contracts.
The above are not too shabby, considering it’s not a world title fight and both men have not boxed a whole lot over recent years.

Porter is considered the favorite in the fight but Berto’s action style similar to Porter’s should make for a good spectacle.
Berto comes into the fight off the back of a win however. Porter’s last outing was a defeat to Keith Thurman in June 2016.
Porter’s intensity is renowned. Having witnessed it first hand watching him spar in his gym back in December in Vegas, I know he’ll be more than motivated for this one tonight.
Big time.
The other purses on the card have also been mentioned by Rafael as $100,000 for WBC super-welterweight champion Jermell Charlo. $75,000 for his opponent Charles Hatley.
Considerably lower for Charlo compared to Porter and Berto. Despite Charlo being the world champion on tonight’s card in New York.
He is not the draw that either of the above are just yet though. No doubt tonight will be looked at as another opportunity to build his star:
