Deontay Wilder on Anthony Joshua vs Klitschko ahead of the biggest heavyweight title fight in many years in boxing.
WBC heavyweight champion of the world Deontay Wilder will be a keen spectator on Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko.
The winner (and possibly the loser) could be on his immediate radar for a showdown later in 2017.
Wilder is a keen student of the game. It’s clear he keeps an eye on what’s going on in the heavyweight landscape and on the new contenders coming through.
A fight between him and Joshua seems like a natural one to happen one day to ignite the old USA vs UK boxing rivalry in the heavyweight division.

Joshua is by far the bigger star though and if he beats Klitschko he will hold more belts too. The old days where fighters had to go to the US to make it big seem to be over. At least for the time being.
Joshua was noted today as saying that he doesn’t see the need to go to the US at all to build his global star, so if Wilder ever does want a unification with him this year, likely he’ll need to travel for it.
