Jessie Magdaleno was in scintillating form in Carson, California as he closed the show here in some style with the right hand.
Las Vegas based Jessie Magdaleno built on his big win over Nonito Donaire last year with a fine performance this weekend in California.
The WBO super-bantamweight world champion wasted little time in getting down to business this weekend – knocking out Brazilian opponent Adeilson Dos Santos inside two rounds.
Early on it appeared that Magdaleno figured out he could walk through a lot of Dos Santos’ firepower, prompting him to release as many punches as he physically could.

He put the foot on the gas so to speak, and proceeded to batter his first title challenger in front of a passionate crowd in Carson.
The end came in round 2 with a double right hook combination that proved too much for Dos Santos. Here’s how it went down:

With the win, southpaw Magdaleno improved his professional boxing record to 25-0-18KO. The 25 year old will no doubt have a lot of options open to him next up in the 122lbs division.
Rey Vargas who holds the WBC world title in the weight class is one name that springs to mind.
