The Murray Rosado scorecard was the story of the night in the evening’s boxing on Sky in the UK. This reaction summed it up.
Martin Murray of St.Helens won a majority decision over American Gabriel Rosado last night in the UK, in perhaps more of a cautious affair than was previously expected.
Ultimately, in most people’s opinion the right man got the decision. But in a close fight. The scorecards read 114-114, 119-109 and 116-112 in favor of Martin Murray.
Rosado nearly snapped afterwards when he heard the 119-109 scorecard and could you blame him? No one seemed to understand how a close fight like that could be scored so widely.
Both men continued to argue in their post-fight interview but the fan reaction online to the Murray Rosado scorecard perhaps said it best (including the event’s promoter):
Had Murray by 2.. 119-109 a disgrace! #MurrayRosado

Had Rosado winning by two from ringside. Got Murray by same score after watching on TV. That 119-109 card is absolutely revolting.

I had Murray-Rosado even 114-114. Had Rosado winning last two rds to even card. 119-109 is a joke of a card.

Abysmal fight. That wasn’t just “not a war”, it was almost entirely devoid of action. Topped off by a disgusting 119-109 card #MurrayRosado

Just seeing the Murray vs Rosado score card 119-109 what a ******* sham of a judge, should be fired. #Disgraceful

The ludicrous 119-109 scorecard was the big talking point from this pretty dull fight. Not convinced Murray “schooled him” #MurrayRosado
