Shawn Porter scored a TKO victory over Andre Berto at the Barclays Centre in what proved to be a rough fight.
A rough fight, but an entertaining one.
Porter showed his trademark intensity throughout the bout as he earned a rematch with welterweight champion Keith Thurman with the win.
The contest did have it’s share of headbutts in it too, in what was a tough fight that Porter brought to Berto right from the first bell.
The way Porter fights might not be the typical sweet science, orthodox style, but it gets the job done and more often than not produces exciting nights.

His will to win last night was just too much for Andre Berto, who simply did not have an answer for the Shawn Porter storm in front of him.
Porter dropped Berto in the second and then twice more in round 9 before the referee stepped in to wave off proceedings in the end.
The victory progressed Porter’s record to 27-2-1 (17KO) and a fight with Keith Thurman next up promises for fireworks between two big hitters. A rematch from their first fight in 2016 that Thurman won.
