Wladimir Klitschko looks to be in the best fight shape of his life ahead of tonight’s massive showdown with Anthony Joshua in Wembley.
Klitschko is a man known for his professionalism but even by his standards he is in remarkable shape for tonight’s fight which has cast some last minute doubt for Joshua in some circles.
If Klitschko were to get his confidence up early on and take the fight into the second half of the contest, there is some concern that Joshua might not have the stamina to match Klitschko in a 12 round fight.
This school of thought was particularly reinforced when Joshua weighed in at a career high yesterday for his pro career.
Klitschko on the other hand came in trim and lighter than usual. While most bookmakers and pundits have Joshua a warm favorite it will be imperative for him to get off to a good start.
Obviously Joshua will have trained incredibly hard for tonight and be at peak condition for round 1, but the reality is he is carrying a lot of muscle and weight for a 12 round fight if it goes the distance.
A lot of people are expecting Joshua to come out blasting straight out of the gates but if he does do this and doesn’t get rid of Klitschko early, he will need to be careful he does not empty the gas tank early on.
