Tony ‘Bomber’ Bellew reacts to Joshua defeating Klitschko amid incredible scenes at Wembley stadium in the UK.
Joshua defeating Klitschko has set the boxing world alight over night it would seem. It’s all anyone is talking about today not just in boxing, but mostly in the sports world.
It was one of those fights that reminded you of the classic heavyweight title bouts of the past.
Little trash talk between the two in the build-up – followed up by two athletes getting into a ring and doing their talking with their fists.
It was considerable talk too. An all action fight that set the world and internet alight afterwards with praise for how both men fought.
After all, it’s what happens in the ring that counts. Not what is said before hand.
Englishman and heavyweight fighter Tony Bellew from Liverpool was ringside commentating on the fight for Sky Sports on the night and straight after the fight reacted on Twitter by saying:
I have no voice or words left! I’m so happy for @anthonyfjoshua , he’s done it! The new face of boxing! A proper icon! ? #JoshuaKlitchsko

Followed by this morning:
I couldn’t be happier for this man! Every current British fighter owes him! A real role model for the kids of tomorrow and our great sport! pic.twitter.com/MVWVget7sR

Bellew’s praise has been replicated by others within the sport for Joshua. There are so many great fights out there for him including a possible showdown with Tyson Fury some day.
That’s probably the biggest one out there at the moment.
Fury will likely have a comeback fight in the summer after a while out of boxing but after that perhaps he’ll go for the Joshua fight.
Tony Bellew also had this immediate assessment of Joshua’s win last night at Wembley stadium (hat tip: Luke’s Daily Sport’s YouTube for the upload):
