It turns out Anthony Joshua had a message for Klitschko verbally while they were in there exchanging blows at Wembley stadium.
Joshua must be feeling pretty good on this Monday bank holiday morning in the UK.
The culmination of a lot of work over the years paid off this past weekend when he stopped Klitschko in the 11th round.
He showed he had an ability to overcome adversity in the fight too, having been knocked down and badly hurt in the 6th round of the bout.
Ultimately he was able to get his way back into the fight, bit by bit.
He could be seen actually speaking to Klitschko in the ring on a number of occasions on TV – but the commentators like everyone else had no clue what he was saying to Klitschko.
Speaking to the Sport Bible, Joshua revealed that in the 10th round he told Klitschko:
“I told him I’d whoop his ass in the next round.”
His mid-fight prediction to his opponent turned out to be on the money, as he proceeded to close the show in round 11.
Attention now turns to who might be next for Joshua as he continues to go from strength to strength in the sport.
The other heavyweight champions Joseph Parker from New Zealand and Deontay Wilder from the US are no doubt in his sights.
The big one that people are looking for in the UK though is Joshua vs Tyson Fury. Surely an inevitable showdown at some point.
