A Mayweather McGregor deadline for the negotiations to be agreed now looms large following a statement from Dana White.
A final Mayweather McGregor deadline is now upon both teams this weekend as one last attempt to get everything over the line is made.
The fight negotiations have been played out for some time now in front of the world’s media – as both men have clearly said they want the fight.
Months upon months of verbal jabs were exchanged by both fighters but in most recent times this has all stopped, which could be a positive sign.
Oftentimes from experience of reporting on the fight business, when things tend to go quiet, that usually is a sign that the powers that be are close to making a deal.
Speaking to Jim Rome – UFC President Dana White has said on a possible deal:
“I plan on having this thing locked up by this Sunday and then moving on to Team Mayweather and starting to negotiate with them.”
It is understood that White then plans on going to team Mayweather this Monday to bring the fight over the line, if indeed it can be.
It was thought that the possible boxing match would happen this September but if it does happen, the date of the fight will need to be looked again now at as Dana White has said the previous date wanted would now clash with the Golovkin vs Canelo fight on September 16th.
