IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook reacts to his old nemesis helping out his next opponent ahead of their upcoming stadium fight.
As reported earlier today, Errol Spence Jr has been extended an invite by Amir Khan to train at his gym in the UK ahead of his fight with IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook.
Both Brook and Khan are fellow British countrymen, but Khan has decided to help US rival Errol Spence Jr with his preparations ahead of the Brook fight – in a subtle jab towards his nemesis from the UK.
The tension between the two has been going on for years at this stage.
There’s been many times that the fight looked like it was going to get made, only for things to fall through for various reasons. Khan has gone on record in the past as saying he didn’t want to give Brook an opportunity, so when things like that are said between professional fighters – you know the hate is real.
Speaking today after photos emerged of Spence Jr training at Khan’s gym in the UK ahead of his fight with Brook next week, Brook responded:
“That’s Amir Khan through and through. He would love to see me lose this fight so he doesn’t have to fight me but that’s not going to happen. He can lend Errol his gym but he can’t save him on May 27 and the only thing on my mind is the fight.”
