Gervonta Davis stops the UK’s Liam Walsh inside the distance to defend his super-featherweight world title.
Gervonta Davis impressed tonight in the UK with a fine performance that saw him retain his IBF super-featherweight world title via 3rd round TKO over previously unbeaten Liam Walsh.
It was Davis’ second fight against an unbeaten opponent on the spin and showed that he is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with in world boxing, despite still being only 22 years old.
The Floyd Mayweather promoted fighter established his dominance early on and never let Walsh get into his groove at all.
After the fight, an understandably disappointed Walsh said that he was nowhere near his best and vowed to comeback.

The power of ‘Tank’ evident above, as was his killer instinct when he had his man hurt.
The win now improves Davis’ record to 18-0-17KO and positions himself as one of the very best in the weight class at the moment.
Some big fights out there could be made for him next up.
Fighters like Vasyl Lomachenko floating around as WBO champion at super-featherweight no doubt would have sat up and taken note after tonight’s win.
