Floyd Mayweather tells Anthony Joshua how he would help him as a fighter and speaks with him about the Klitschko fight.
Floyd Mayweather met heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua for the first time this past weekend in the UK following his fighter Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis winning a 3rd round TKO in a bout with Liam Walsh.
Mayweather was bombarded with questions on his travels to the UK about Conor McGregor, but him meeting Anthony Joshua seemed to be of much more interest to fans this past weekend.
In many ways one represents the old era of boxing and the other represents the new era.
Mayweather clearly sees talent in Joshua from what he’s observed so far.
Indeed, the whole world of boxing sat up and took note when Joshua came back to stop Wladimir Klitschko recently in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley stadium.
The event sold well over 1 million pay per views in the UK alone and was also very well received on US and German TV.
Joshua has now become the new face of boxing worldwide in many respects – with Mayweather still being the bigger star of course but now that he’s coming to the end of his career, it could be argued that Anthony Joshua is the new superstar of the sport coming through to take Mayweather’s place.
Speaking on Joshua, here’s what Floyd Mayweather had to say about how he’d help him to his face, as well as speaking to him about the Klitschko fight:
