Newly crowned IBF welterweight world champion Errol Spence Jr has straight away turned his attention to some big fights.
He was made to work for the win tonight against Kell Brook – who put up a hell of a fight before falling victim to an eleventh round stoppage in Sheffield, UK.
It was a matchup that had a little bit of everything. Inside fighting, counter punching, rough house tactics, boxing from range, knockdowns and ultimately – a stoppage.
After the fight in his post-fight interview, Errol Spence Jr remained humble and thanked Kell Brook for the opportunity to fight for his belt.
In the post-fight press conference afterwards Errol Spence Jr had two names in particular that he wouldn’t mind fighting next:

It’s always encouraging to hear any world champion looking to unify the division and take on the other champions at his weight class.
In 2017 already we’ve seen two unification fights in the welterweight division – tonight’s bout in Sheffield and Danny Garcia vs Keith Thurman back in March.
Indeed, Thurman might be the main man being targeted at present for Spence as it would be easier to make one suspects with both fighters boxing on the Premier Boxing Champions series.
Manny Pacquiao has been linked with a fight against Terence Crawford later in the year. Provided he gets past his next test in Australian Jeff Horn that is.
One thing is certain, the welterweight division is really coming to life once again.
