WBC light-heavyweight world champion Adonis Stevenson stops Andrzej Fonfara inside the distance. Here’s the moment he did it.
Adonis Stevenson marched on again tonight in the 175lbs division following a dominant display with an old rival of his in their rematch.
Stevenson had previously beaten Andrzej Fonfara in 2014 via unanimous decision but tonight the bout didn’t last anywhere near as long.

It didn’t even go two rounds in fact, when Fonfara’s trainer Virgil Hunter pulled his man out of the fight tonight in Canada following getting an early pasting from Stevenson.

Some big left hands sunk in there.
There was some controversy however at the earliness of the stoppage – as some fans expressed their displeasure with boos at the end of the fight in Montreal.
The reality was though that Fonfara was likely to continue to get a hammering from the big punching Stevenson, and that his trainer knows him better than most must have seen something in his man that made him look to save him for another day.
Stevenson has held the WBC light-heavyweight title for quite some time now without being involved in any massive unification fights, mostly campaigning in Canada.
Calls for him to take on the winner of Andre Ward and Sergey Kovalev later this month no doubt will come again.
