It seems like only yesterday that Ricky Hatton was taking thousands of fans across the pond to Las Vegas during his always fun-filled fight career.
A professional boxing tenure that saw him fight the very best fighters of a generation in Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
Only to come up short.
It was always about the challenge for Hatton however – never about taking the safe option of staying in his home country and racking up easy defences.

This mentality was prevalent in 2007 when he fought Mayweather, intent on trying to win the fight and not surviving for twelve rounds – he ultimately ran into one of the best check left hooks of Mayweather’s career.
Mayweather proved too sharp on the night and picked his moments well to close the show.
While comparing Mayweather vs McGregor to Mayweather vs Hatton is like comparing night and day, realistically, Hatton has still had some words of warning for the Irishman in his endeavour that he wants to attempt.
