The Joshua Klitschko rematch location has a variety of front runners as the fight looks set to definitely go ahead again in 2017.
During the week Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed the rematch is going ahead in his opinion until he hears otherwise.
The International Boxing Federation also granted an exemption for the rematch to happen to temporarily allow Joshua to not fight his mandatory contender next – Bulgaria’s Kubrat Pulev.
Attention has now turned to where the Joshua Klitschko rematch location could be and on what date.

According to the IBF, the fight will need to take place between late October and early December but as regards a venue an interesting new development has occurred.
Speaking to Kugan Cassius of IFL TV during the week, promoter Eddie Hearn has said Nigeria is now the leading contender to host the fight, with venues in the US perhaps being second favorite and Cardiff and Dubai also being in the frame.
Dubai seems to get into the frame a lot lately for talks about big fights happening there, but realistically, nothing actually ever comes about from there for big boxing matches at least.
The recent Pacquiao vs Khan fight falling through there springs to mind.
Hearn also mentioned that the infrastructure for a big event in Nigeria already exists with the country playing host to a lot of international pop concerts.
Anthony Joshua’s mother was born in Nigeria and his father is of Nigerian and Irish descent also, so perhaps it might make a lot of sense to build Joshua’s global star in the country at least with one of his fights over the coming years.
