McGregor vs Mayweather Is It Going To Happen?

McGregor vs Mayweather is it going to happen? There appears to be just a few obstacles left to the potential boxing match taking place.

The art of negotiation, it’s a funny old game. Indeed it goes beyond just business but plays a part in all our everyday lives.

Finding a fair deal between two parties to agree on something can sometimes be an easy process or a difficult one, depending on who’s involved.

In the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor talks there’s a lot more than just two parties.

Mayweather’s adviser Al Haymon, known to be one of the shrewdest negotiators in the boxing business, likely is testing the patience of the UFC’s Dana White.

But White is known himself for being one of the toughest negotiators out there – even to people that know him well.

Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen who knows White better than most fighters noted on one occasion that while he enjoyed White’s company and was quite friendly with him, when it came time to negotiate in business with him, it was absolute hell.

Every time.

Add to this, the fact that Al Haymon isn’t going to exactly give too much ground on this either, equals the current result of a stalemate where fans have been waiting for months on end to hear news of whether the fight is going to happen or not.

McGregor vs Mayweather is it going to happen

It appeared that is was almost over the line a few weeks ago until the Gennady Golovkin vs Canelo Alvarez middleweight title fight scuppered the previously planned September date for Mayweather vs McGregor.

Likely November or early December is now what is being looked at for Mayweather vs McGregor as both teams come down the final stage of negotiations.

White’s demeanour here when questioned if he was out of the negotiations suggests the fight will happen.

Anyone that happy and smiley as a fight promoter when talking about a fight knows it’s going to go through in the end, surely.

As in all negotiations patience is a virtue. One few of us have, in truth. It only comes with a lot of experience and time in one’s life.

So, is McGregor vs Mayweather is it going to happen? On the balance of probability, I’d have to say yes.
