Assistant Sergey Kovalev trainer speaks on why he believes his boxer lost to Andre Ward in their rematch in Vegas.
The aftermath to Andre Ward’s 8th round TKO victory over Sergey Kovalev has been pouring in all week online since the fight on Saturday night.
Despite the controversy surrounding the stoppage perhaps being a bit premature, and in some people’s eyes a little bit of a low blow, most seem to agree that Ward was well on his way to closing the show against a Kovalev who was badly fading and on his way out.

Ward’s skill and determination to dig deep was really on show as the fight progressed, gradually going through the gears after what were some very competitive rounds early on.
Before the fight a lot of talk surrounded a story pertaining to Kovalev’s head coach Jackson allegedly been approached by team Ward ahead to train the American.
This was laughed off by both Ward and Jackson but some questioned how close team Kovalev were in training before the fight after it seemed as though coach and fighter were rather distant after the fight, with many of Jackson’s comments seemingly subdued and disinterested also.
