Josh Kelly wowed Newcastle tonight with ten left hooks in the very first round to march on to 3-0 (2KO) in his pro career tonight.
Josh Kelly put in a genuinely outstanding display tonight by anyone’s standards. The 23 year old super-welterweight from Sunderland, UK, made short work of his opponent Tom Whitfield.
Whitfield never knew what hit him in truth in what was a whirlwind of a performance from Kelly – nicknamed ‘Pretty Boy’.
It was a pretty solid showing in all fairness.

Unbelievable stuff, really. What a finish.
After the fight his trainer Adam Booth noted that Kelly will be the type of fighter who can be progressed quickly in his career with performances like that.
Josh Kelly promoter Eddie Hearn could barely contain his excitement at what he saw. Kelly himself was keeping a level head however.
He mentioned he was taking inspiration from fellow training stablemate Ryan Burnett from Belfast winning a world title recently and that he is looking to take small steps on route to the big goal – a world title.
Josh Kelly, remember the name. One of the best finishes to a fight from a young boxer in a long, long time tonight.
