The great Rigondeaux and Lomachenko actually had a chat during the week about the prospects of fighting one day in the ring.
For now, the fight is a no goer it would seem.
Most likely for commercial reasons with it not generating enough money and attracting enough interest outside the hardcore boxing demographic.
But for purists and lovers of the sweet science, debate about how a Rigondeaux and Lomachenko fight might play out one day will still rage on.
Two Olympic gold medallists with as much amateur pedigree and pure grade perhaps as any fighter to turn pro in boxing history.

Both achieving the highest honours in the pro game in a short time too, but above all else – both in possession of a weaponry that most fighters would kill for.
During the week Guillermo Rigondeaux let his fans know on Twitter that he actually had a chat with Lomachenko man to man about a possible fight one day:
