Two-weight world champion Carl Frampton explains why he’s starting to give Conor McGregor more of a chance than he was initially.
Carl ‘The Jackal’ Frampton returns to the ring this Saturday night when he makes his homecoming in Belfast to take on Mexican Andres Gutierrez at the SSE Arena.
The fight will be shown live free to air in the UK and Ireland on Channel 5.
It will be the first time Frampton has boxed since suffering his first career defeat as a pro when he dropped a majority decision to Leo Santa Cruz back in January in Las Vegas.

Like a lot of fighters in the boxing and MMA worlds at the moment, Frampton has been battered with Mayweather vs McGregor questions recently in a spectacle event that has captured the wider mainstream’s attention.
Speaking to James Helder of IFL TV, Frampton spoke of how he’s starting to shift his view a bit on the fight:
“I don’t know. Recently I’ve started to change my mind. At the start I was like, ah no chance for McGregor – Mayweather is going to box the head off him. He’s massive, like. McGregor is huge. Mayweather is old. I don’t know. I don’t know. I’m kind of sitting on the fence at the moment. If McGregor beats Mayweather it makes boxing look terrible and it just makes all boxers look like idiots. A guy coming in on his debut and beating the best fighter of our generation.”
He added:
“Recently, I’ve just had this feeling that he could do something. He’s just so big, so young, aggressive, hungry, determined. I don’t know.”
Interesting stuff from Frampton.
Perhaps one of the few professional boxers giving McGregor any sort of chance in August 26th’s upcoming boxing match in Las Vegas.
