Conor McGregor responds to Floyd Mayweather’s gloves size request in typically bullish form as the fight gets closer.
Conor McGregor has exactly 24 days to get ready for his first professional boxing match ever on August 26th – when he steps in there for the first time as a pro against the best boxer of this generation.
We reported earlier that Floyd Mayweather said he’ll be using 8 ounce gloves in the fight, contrary to popular belief that the fight would be contested with the larger, more padded 10 ounce pro boxing gloves.
This doesn’t seem to bother McGregor in the slightest however who responded in predictable fashion taunting the American on his Instagram by saying:
“Another handy 12 rounds today. We are prepared to destroy Floyd.
Pick whatever size gloves you want as well little man. I fight with 4oz. I don’t give a **** about the size of the glove.I am coming sprinting at you with bricks. Know that. Brittle hands.”
He also posted the above picture of him sparring today that looks to be Paulie Malignaggi.
Interestingly, he has not posted much video content in recent weeks of his spars – just still photos.
A while back when the fight negotiations were ongoing you may recall McGregor leaking various sparring videos but he appears to have tightened up in this regard since the fight became official.
Time will if he had enough time to get ready come August 26th.
Surely going for broke and trying to make it some sort of a street fight-type boxing match with everything he has for a couple of rounds is his best bet, one would have thought.
Hats off to him for taking such a daunting challenge though.
