The Moment Lomachenko Stopped Marriaga In California

Vasyl Lomachenko stopped Miguel Marriaga in another dominant win this weekend as the world continues to get to know his genius.

It was a devastating display at times. The WBO super-featherweight champion’s control of the bout was never in question.

He dropped his opponent twice on route to making him quit but before he did, he even through in some showboating for the crowd:

The Ukraine boxing machine was in no mood to be messed with and as the bout continued, so did the brutality of the beating he dished out.

You could almost tell that Marriaga’s use of the head made Lomachenko even more vindictive in his work, more spiteful.

After the fight Marriaga commented on Lomachenko saying:

“He’s really great.”

High praise from a man straight after a fight he knew he had no chance to win in, in truth.

The end came for him in the 7th round as the 130lbs WBO title holder Lomachenko dropped him again and forced him to withdraw:

Another impressive win for a man quickly struggling to find opponents that can test him due to his freakish skills and ability.

One man who certainly could would be Cuba’s Guillermo Rigondeaux – who was vocal on Twitter after the fight as expected.

Perhaps the two could finally showdown before the end of 2017. If fight fans are lucky.
