Guillermo Rigondeaux reacts to WBO super-featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko’s latest win in the ring this weekend.
Cuban boxing maestro Guillermo Rigondeaux was an interested spectator in last night’s fight as were many other fighters, and indeed the boxing world as a whole.
How could they not be though? As one of the world’s leading pound for pound pugilists put on yet another emphatic display.
‘Rigo’ was not impressed with the level of opponent however and mentioned after the fight that:
Dproblem is not that Loma can’t fight. We all know HE CAN!!!. Dproblem is that he is fighting someone that is not fighting back and I will!!

I will stop this guy.

Stop booing Marriaga. It is your fault for expecting the impossible. Boo Lomachenko for not demanding a better opponent.

Please! Even my baby son can beat someone that is not fighting back. Can’t wait to hear what the #fakeboxingnews is going to say

Some fighters demand bigger pay and lesser opponents. I demand better pay and the best opponents.

He has a point in some regards you’d have to say.
Yes, Lomachenko is an outstanding talent and a force to be reckoned with, but he was always expected to do a job on Marriaga to be fair.
A fight between Rigondeaux and Lomachenko, or even a fight against Mikey Garcia, will tell us a lot more.
