Floyd Mayweather expecting to earn his single biggest payday ever from a fight against Conor McGregor. The numbers are quite obscene.
As the record currently stands, the biggest performing fight of all time in terms of revenue generated was Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao back in 2015.
It was widely reported that Mayweather vs Pacquiao generated a staggering $600 million approx worldwide in just one night, of which Mayweather, Pacquiao, the promoters and the TV networks all took their cut from.
It was then reported by ESPN at the time that Mayweather himself personally came away with a gargantuan $230 million of the revenue that night.
Current projections by broadcasters of the Mayweather vs McGregor fight, Showtime, are expecting all records to be eclipsed in this regard come August 26th.
Floyd himself is expecting to potentially make much more against McGregor after he revealed to Jimmy Kimmel that he could possibly walk away with:
“$350 million.”
Not bad for a night’s work if you can get it.
The bout is scheduled for twelve x three minute rounds (36 minutes) so by my calculations that works out that Mayweather could potentially earn an incredible $9.72 million per minute – if it were to go the full 12 rounds.
Not a bad a salary, eh?
