American Shawn Porter is now off the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor undercard due to very unfortunate circumstances that have arisen.
The Mayweather-McGregor undercard will be without the talents of ‘Showtime’ Shawn Porter (27-2-1-17KO) on August 26th due to personal reasons, citing a death in his family.
Everyone at Boxing News and Views wishes to send our deepest condolences to Shawn Porter and his family at this time.
The organizers of the event have managed to find a Cuban replacement for Porter in the form of Yordenis Ugas who will now face Thomas Dulorme instead.
Dulorme (24-2-16KO) has only lost twice as a professional to date, the last time coming to the exceptional Terence Crawford back in 2015.
The Mayweather undercard still has two world title fights supporting the main event in the form of Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis defending his IBF super-featherweight title against Francisco Fonseca and also the WBA light-heavyweight world title fight between Badou Jack and Welshman Nathan Cleverly.
The event will take place on August 26th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
As is usually the case for main events in Las Vegas, expect the main fight between Mayweather and McGregor to start at approximately 8-9pm local time – which is about 4-5amam on Sunday morning UK/Irish time the next morning.
These times are always subject to change however depending on TV requirements but we’ll keep you updated on fight week with the times for everything.
