Boxing fans in 2017 have been treated to a bumper year so far in the sport but it looks like things are just about to get a whole lot better.
If the reports are to be believed, Christmas this year for boxing fans will come 16 days early on the 9th of December to be exact.
Boxing’s answer to fine dining essentially the “Michelin Star” quality mark of the sweet science is as we speak is on the range and being prepared, garnished and plated up ready to serve to an eager and hungry boxing public before their Christmas turkey.
Guillermo Rigondeaux, the sublimely talented WBA World Super Bantamweight champion and the outrageously skilled WBO World Super Featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko are on the menu apparently.
If it happens, it could perhaps be the crowning glory to a glorious year in boxing.
Dan Rafael, via twitter has said he’s told that the date has been booked for the fight. Rigondeaux himself however has said he can neither confirm or deny it at this point:
Guys I can’t confirm or denied anything. U should ask @RocNation or @trboxing about December. Not me. All I can tell u is this. #NotAfraid

If this gets over the line, boxing fans brake out the jeans with the expandable waistband, pull up a chair at boxing’s high table and prepare to feast on a culinary delight of the best menu boxing has to offer before this Christmas.
Bon Appetit:
