Pound for pound rated Vasyl Lomachenko drops a subtle, or perhaps not so subtle dig at fellow champions at his weight class.
Speculation is heavy that Lomachenko is now inches away from signing to fight Cuban boxing legend Guillermo Rigondeaux on December 9th at Madison Square Garden.
It has been a long time coming.
Fight fans are eager to see of confirmed news that the bout will definitely go ahead after Rigondeaux told fans on Twitter yesterday that he could neither confirm or deny the reported December 9th date.
Lomachenko has found himself in a similar position to Rigondeaux in recent times, ironically, in that he’s finding it difficult to get other champions at his weight into the ring with him.
Perhaps that’s why the Lomachenko vs Rigondeaux fight could actually happen next up – as both men are essentially having the same problem.
Lomachenko has taken issue with this on Twitter after sending his best wishes to Terence Crawford following his sensational unification win over Julius Indongo at the weekend:
Congrats @budcrawford402 #Undisputed ! 👍 to Indongo for wanting to fight the best unlike other "champs" in my weight class. #MyTurn

The WBO super-featherweight champion with a not so subtle hint for the other champions at his weight – Gervonta Davis, Miguel Berchelt and Jezreel Corrales.
No doubt after Terence Crawford unified all the belts at the weekend that other fighters will be inspired to do the same moving forward, one would have thought.
