Super-welterweight Davis Pagan admits he is excited by the prospect of fighting in Europe but is not getting complacent ahead of his MTK London outing.
The Essex-based fighter looks set to feature on stablemate and European Champion Juho Haapoja undercard in October just a few weeks after appearing in Brentwood.
CJ Hussein trains the pair and Pagan admits the unique opportunity of fighting abroad would not have been possible without him.
“My stablemate Juho (Haapoja) is making his first defence of his Cruiserweight belt at Power Park in Finland,” said the former St Pancras ABC boxer.
“We are both trained by CJ Hussein and I’m managed by Derek Waddell who are always looking to keep me busy.
“The opportunity came up and I obviously jumped at the it. Thankfully my trainer went to the promoter and put some weight on them.
“Also on the bill is Kian Thomas who I spend a lot of time with in the gym training together and sparring.
The 26-year-old knows that nothing is better at building a profile than wins and he is adamant that despite the flirtations with a European adventure, the team’s aim is solely closer to home for now.
He continued: “It’s a great chance, but dont get me wrong we all know the job that has to be done in Brentwood first.
“I’ve sold a lot of tickets, the Pagan Army never disappoint and it’s right on their doorstep. MTK always put on great shows and I can’t wait to be part of it.
Davis Pagan (4-1-1KO) is expected to fight on October 21st at Power Park, Kauhava in Finland against an opponent to be confirmed.
So far since making his professional debut back in April of last year the only blemish on his record thus far came to Sonny Whiting in November 2016.
A defeat he avenged this year when he scored a points victory over Whiting at York Hall in February.
