Heavyweight champion of the world Anthony Joshua reacts to a mixed martial arts fighter calling him out for a fight.
British knockout artist Anthony Joshua is a man in demand at the moment ahead of his upcoming showdown with Bulgaria’s Kubrat Pulev next month in Cardiff, Wales.
It seems he’s not just in demand in his own sport though.
The recent Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor boxing match appears to have given some fighters the idea to try things the other way.
MMA fighters are now calling out boxers and the other way round more than ever following the recent Mayweather vs McGregor bout.
Current UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic called the Briton out recently saying:
Want a more exciting fight? The two best heavyweights in the world. @anthonyfjoshua let’s do this. Don’t be scared homie!
— Stipe Miocic (@stipemiocicufc) August 27, 2017
Joshua has had a relaxed, joking response, in the vein of a certain Conor McGregor. He told the Sport Bible:
“Who the f*** is that guy?”
It seems like an almost non logical thought to have either man fight each other in either’s respective sport, given the fact that Joshua doesn’t know the ground game for the UFC and the fact Miocic would likely be pulverised in seconds in a straight boxing match.
When will these cross-over fight call outs stop?
