The first day of Anthony Joshua vs Pulev ticket sales have absolutely smashed previous records showing the star power of Joshua.
Some say Canelo is the biggest name in world boxing, I beg to differ. The heavyweight champion of the world still means something even in today’s crazy times we live in.
Anthony Joshua’s star power has been shown time and time again for ticket sale records and quick times in which tickets are snapped up.
While Pulev might not be the most well known foe to the common sports fan outside of hardcore boxing fans, the wider public have clearly bought into Joshua now after his win back in April over Klitschko.
They’ve spoken today with their wallets as 70,000 tickets were astonishingly sold on the very first day of sale today – for the fight that takes place next month in an outdoor stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
It has officially become the fastest selling event ever at the stadium.
It is also understood that it will be the largest indoor sporting event of all time (given the fact the stadium has a retractable roof which will be used given the time of year).
Truly incredible numbers for a boxing match.
If Joshua were to keep winning, just imagine how big a potential fight between him and Deontay Wilder – or even a bout with Tyson Fury could be in the future.
Mind boggling.
