Reports have come in that Mayweather protege and former world champion Gervonta Davis was allegedly arrested but has now been released on bail.
Nicknamed ‘Tank’, Davis only lost his world title on the scales last time out. Not in the ring.
When he failed to make weight ahead of his most recent bout that took place on the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor card.
According to the UK Sun, the Mayweather protege has been bailed out with $100,000 to be released from jail this Tuesday after allegedly been charged with assault.
The 22 year old fighter was previously the youngest current world champion in modern boxing until surrendering his title last time out on the scales.
He did however go on to secure a knockout victory in the bout over Francisco Fonseca. The fight took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas as part of the McGregor vs Mayweather card.
It is not known as of yet what Davis’ immediate future holds in the ring due to the current outside the ring issues that have presented themselves to him.
At this time Gervonta Davis holds a professional boxing record of 19-0-18KO.
His resume includes notable wins over the likes of Jose Pedraza and a win on the road to the UK over Liam Walsh earlier in 2017.
