Big time Monte Carlo boxing is back come November 4th as Matchroom announced their latest show there today featuring some solid action.
Monte Carlo might have a reputation as one of the world’s premier destinations for the glitz and glamour of the globe who like to descend on Monaco every now and again, but it’s quickly building up a reputation as a good spot for pro boxing shows these last few years too.
Gennady Golovkin is one fighter who’s boxed there in recent times and boxing promoters Matchroom have been there in recent times also putting on shows.
They’ve announced their latest show there today which will take place on November 4th and will be headlined by the WBA bantamweight world title fight between Jamie McDonnell and Liborio Solis.
Also on the card will be another world title fight between highly touted Russian Dmitry Bivol and Trent Broadhurst who will compete for the vacant WBA light-heavyweight title.
It is understood this portion of the broadcast will be available on HBO for US viewers, while the whole card in the UK will be shown on Sky Sports.
The card will also include former world champion Scott Quigg who fights in a featherweight title eliminator and continues his comeback under the guidance of Freddie Roach, since suffering the sole defeat of his career to Carl Frampton.
Controversial heavyweight Dereck Chisora will also fight on the card as part of his first fight on a new deal with promoters Matchroom he signed recently.
All in all, a fairly solid card in Monte Carlo.
