Irishman Conor McGregor wants a fight with ex-sparring partner Paulie Malignaggi – speaking at an event following loss to Floyd Mayweather.
UFC’s Conor McGregor has resurfaced on the media circuit this weekend as he sat and spoke at a fan event in Glasgow, Scotland.
It was the first time McGregor had sat down and done a proper interview since his one and only fight in professional boxing to date.
A comprehensive stoppage loss on August 26th to Floyd Mayweather.
Whether McGregor returns to the boxing ring remains to be seen, but it is understood he is looking a returning to his usual sport of MMA next up.
On the topic of his old sparring partner and two-time boxing world champion Paulie Malignaggi however, he is categorically leaving this door well and truly open:
“Paulie on the other hand he’s talking enough ****. I know he’s stuck for some money. I know he’s looking for a fight. He’s talking about bring your balls and do this and do that. Bring your balls and fight in a real fight.”
Malignaggi has intimated similar feelings in the past for wanting a piece of McGregor in the ring and following the whole publicity bonanza he received for his part in McGregor’s preparation for Floyd Mayweather, one would suspect it would not be a problem selling this ‘spectacle’, as it were.
