The Chris Eubank Jr knockout tonight in the quarter finals of the World Boxing Super Series will have sent out a definite message.
Eubank dropped Turkish opponent Yildirim in the very first round with a sweet counter right uppercut tonight in Stuttgart, Germany.
A peach of a shot that showed straight away that Eubank was not intimidated in the slightest by boxing away from home in Germany.
Both he and his father looked menacing before the bout got underway, as they started into the sole and eyes of opponent Yildirim and his team across the ring.
The cleanness and efficiency in which he proceeded to land with in the contest was quiet impressive. Perhaps the most impressive of his career to date.
He took the ‘0’ of previously undefeated Yildirim and afterwards Eubank Jr noted:
“He was a strong come forward fighter like I know he was going to be but the experience was not there for him. I think he needs to work on his technical boxing abilities. Groves is an experienced, well rounded fighter and that’s why the boxing fans want to see that fight because they know it’s going to be competitive.”
Eubank was of course referring to fellow British super-middleweight George Groves who also competes in the World Boxing Super series.
