John Ryder became the first man to stop Denmark’s Patrick Nielson this weekend at the World Boxing Super Series, and in some style.
John Ryder came into this weekend’s fight as a slight underdog and coming off the back of a defeat to Rocky Fielding in April at the Liverpool Arena.
He made that split decision victory a thing of the past in quality fashion however, turning his career completely around to now being on the verge of a world title shot.
Fighting on the undercard of George Groves vs Jamie Cox in the World Boxing Super Series, John Ryder will have well and truly put himself in the shop window with this terrific stoppage:

Here’s another look from a slightly different angle:

What a win and what a performance.
John Ryder now closes in on some big opportunities in the super-middleweight division after an up and down career in recent times that saw him suffer defeat over the years to the likes of Billy Joe Saunders, Nick Blackwell, Jack Arnfield and most recently Rocky Fielding.
The plaudits have been flooding in for Ryder after last night with some of the notable reactions so far being the following:
John Ryder was not playing around there was he! Great result against all the odds there! Well done champ.. ? @_John_Ryder_
