Anthony Joshua Speaks On Who He Thinks Is Best Boxer In The World

Anthony Joshua Speaks On

Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua speaks on who he believes to be the best fighter in the world today is ahead of latest title fight.

Pound for pound in boxing is a funny one.

Trying to come up with a list of who the best boxers in the world are regardless of what weight they fight at is always a difficult challenge.

Funnily enough, despite the prestige that goes along with being heavyweight champion of the world and Anthony Joshua’s titanic battle (and stoppage win) last April against Wladimir Klitschko, most pound for pound lists don’t seem to include Joshua in their top 10.

More than anything though, that is probably testament to the sheer scale of quality fighters internationally in boxing nowadays – more than a slight on Joshua.

If Joshua were to start beating the likes of Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury and Joseph Parker over the coming years however and unify the heavyweight crown, then things might change a but in that regard.

Ahead of his fight with Carlos Takam this weekend in Cardiff Joshua told Talk Sport who he believes is the best fighter in the world at the moment:

“Canelo. Canelo is my guy.”

Canelo recently was involved in a controversial draw in Las Vegas against Gennady Golovkin – where the two are now expected to rematch in 2018.

Joshua’s fight this Saturday will be shown on Showtime in the US and on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK.
