The official first Saunders vs Lemieux press conference took place today to announce the WBO middleweight world title fight.
Both men were in fine voice at their first meeting today in Montreal, Canada.
Hometown man and challenger David Lemieux seemed in bullish form. Perhaps buoyed by his home country support in Montreal where the fight will take place.
The fight will take place on December 16th at Place Bell, Laval.
Saunders during the conference said:
“I think this fight to be honest is a good fight but I will win this fight as easy as I want to win it. David says he promises this, he promises that, but he should have made those promises for the three losses in his career.”
He added:
“At the top elite level he’s came short. He’s came short against one Golovkin, Rubio who I would play with, dismantle – he wouldn’t know what day of the week is.”
He went on:
“I look forward to David coming hard at me. He’s going to eat the jab.”
The two clearly will be winding each other up over the coming weeks judging by today’s verbals.
So without further adieu, here is the full Saunders vs Lemieux press conference that took place today via the Facebook live broadcast on Eye of the Tiger management (hat tip):
